After a distinguished career as Head of Counterterrorism and Covert Specialist Training with Police Scotland, Johnny was honoured by His Majesty The King in June 2025 for his outstanding service. Today, he channels that same professionalism and dedication into sharing his love of Scotland’s people, landscapes, and culture through bespoke, unforgettable travel experiences.
A former mountaineer with a deep knowledge of Scotland’s mountains, glens, and countryside, Johnny is also a former member of the Royal Burgh of Stirling Pipe Band, where he played the bass drum and led the Beating of the Retreat from Stirling Castle onto the esplanade, performing for visitors from around the world. He also performed at the world premiere of Braveheart at the Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling University, beneath the National Wallace Monument — a proud reminder of his lifelong connection to Scotland’s heritage.
